Portland It is

After a lot of research, not to mention quite a bit of juggling of my work schedule, I’ve settled on the “new” Portland Marathon as my big fall race. There’s lot I like about Portland, including the fact that it’s a new and apparently flat, fast course. I also love that I can tie this into a business trip. I  really dig Portland and travel regularly there for business. This will be a very cool way to see and experience the city, similar to what I experienced last fall in Madison. I’m pretty stoked and training has already commenced. Other races I considered included Chicago (was my first choice but was already filled up), St. George in Utah (notoriously fast course but starts above 6,000 feet which is an issue for me) Twin Cities in Minneapolis (too far) and New York (not fast and already have run it two times).

So, Portland it is. Let the games begin!
